This is a mountain that owes its popularity to Buachaille Etive Mòr’s Stob Dearg summit, as Beinn a’ Chrulaiste is perhaps the finest place from which to appreciate Scotland’s most recognisable peak. This makes Beinn a’ Chrulaiste the site of more than its fair share of wild camping trips and many a landscape photographer has taken on the route to the summit. Peak baggers will also be emboldened by the fact that it’s also a Corbett.

The usual ascent is via a faint, intermittent path that leaves the West Highland Way trail just to the east of Altnafeadh. This takes you first to Stob Beinn a' Chrulaiste before ascending over boggy ground to reach the main summit.
