Barricata Hut

The plain of Marcesina has been a borderland between Venice and Austria for centuries, at a time when farmers competed for precious high-altitude pastures. On the edge of this plateau, where it is still possible to walk the path of the boundary stones, there is the Barricata refuge: go there in summer to have fun on a mountain bike, come back in winter (with snowshoes or cross-country skis) to find out if this land really deserves the nickname of Finland of Italy due to the very rigid temperatures that are recorded periodically due to the basin conformation of the entire area.
