"Dieprahm moated castle, which can be found in today's Gestfeld district of the town of Kamp-Lintfort, is located on a 3.95 hectare property and is located in the middle of a large, well-kept park area. Haus Dieprahm lies between many trees and is bordered by two high defense towers. Today it is surrounded by a moat with a small lake. The well-preserved brick building consists of a rectangular, two-storey structure and two corner towers.
In the 14th century, a drawbridge led from the castle courtyard to the actual castle complex, where the brothers Johan and Evert lived in gene Dippramme, which is how the house got its name.
To this day, there is a suspicion that Napoleon spent a day in the tower room on the ground floor of the Dieprahm house when fleeing to France after he had separated from his army in Russia.
