Hiking

The cave was first examined around 1898 by Mr. Stauffer from Frauenfeld. His research from that time apparently remained fruitless. Only large-scale excavations by geologist Emil Stauber between 1934 and 1935 then provided charcoal-bearing layers with finds from the Middle and Younger Stone Ages, as well as from the Roman period.
