Hiking
It is one of the most popular places in the city center of La Laguna and was named after the conqueror of the island: Adelantado (governor) Alonso Fernández de Lugo. Due to the importance of the buildings on this square in the 16th century, some of the most important public events were held there up until the 20th century. It was first laid out with slabs in 1798 and the interior area was planted with greenery in 1843. The beautiful marble fountain in the center, which was given its current location in 1870, was commissioned from a French workshop.
