Bike Touring Highlight
Very picturesque old town - dominated by the Church of St. Peter and Paul.
Best known is the western district, "le Bruch" with its canals and half-timbered houses.
But who goes through the winding lanes - off the main tourist route - will find some very interesting views and photo opportunities.

Wissembourg (Weißenburg) is located on the German-French border at the entrance to the northern Vosges. With the numerous half-timbered buildings, the Abbey of St. Peter and Paul and the beautiful town hall, the place tells its story. Definitely worth getting lost here. Nice restaurants and cafes invite you to linger.

Very nice, medieval town that has retained its character. Countless half-timbered houses and narrow streets characterize the picture. Several arms of the Louder flow through town.
If you want good food, is well served, provided that you like hearty eats. Even good wines are not missing.

A beautiful city in Alsace. Absolutely worth seeing and a long break and exploration.
The community of Weißenburg developed from a steadily growing settlement around a monastery founded in the 7th century. In the late Middle Ages and in the early modern period, Weißenburg was an independent imperial city in the Holy Roman Empire.
As Wissembourg, Weißenburg has belonged to France since 1680. Today the nation states no longer play a major role and you can easily switch from one country to the other and enjoy the area.
You will learn much more worth knowing e.g. here
