"... The Murg Valley Railway is a railway line through the northern Black Forest in Baden-Württemberg. The 58-kilometer branch line connects the Murg Valley to the district towns of Rastatt and Freudenstadt and to the national railway network. It emerged from separate railway projects that were still in progress in the 19th century in the Grand Duchy of Baden and in the Kingdom of Württemberg It was not until 1928, six decades after the start of construction, that the gap was closed and continuous operation started.
