Eythra was a village south of Leipzig. Administratively it belonged to the Leipzig-Land district in the Leipzig district. At the beginning of the 1980s, the entire village had to give way to lignite mining and was dredged over by the Zwenkau opencast mine. In 1988 the devastated corridors of Eythra and its district Bösdorf were incorporated into Knautnaundorf, with whom they came to the city of Leipzig in 1999.
