In 1970, the devastation of the places Eythra and Böstdorf (belonging to Eythra) was decided on continuation of the mining Zwenkau. Until 1986, Eythra was evicted and then dredged.

The memorial stone commemorates the place Eythra, which fell victim to the Zwenkau opencast mine in 1983. 2,120 residents were resettled, around 60 percent of them to Leipzig-Grünau.
