A view from the Schaumainkai east of the Untermainbrücke onto the Frankfurt skyline from times when this word and the associated concept did not yet exist: on the far left the bell rider on the roof of the church in the Carmelite Monastery (now the Archaeological Museum), to the right (in the background ) the tower of the Katharinenkirche at the Hauptwache, followed by the "Langer Franz" town hall tower on the northwestern corner of the Roman complex, to the right the tower of the Paulskirche rises (again in the background), immediately next to it in the foreground on the Main St. Leonhard on the right then the tower of St. Nikolai am Römerberg. The characteristic view is completed by the Eiserner Steg, behind which the Saalhof with its pension tower, Bernus building and Burnitz building can be seen, and on the far right the St. Bartholomew's Cathedral.

Between the “Alte Brücke” and the “Untermainbrücke” it is quite “lively”.
