The Liedbachtal nature reserve covers an area of around 24 hectares between Unna-Massen and Holzwickede. It is characterized by a diverse landscape, which is characterized by wet grassland, wooded slope edges, bushes, tall herbaceous meadows, large sedge marshes, ponds and flowing waters. The Liedbach, which gives the reserve its name, meanders idyllically through the area and, together with the Holzwickeder Bach, forms the main axes of the reserve. These streams contribute significantly to ecological diversity and provide habitats for numerous animal and plant species. The area is an important refuge for various species of birds, amphibians and butterflies. The combination of wetlands, forests and open spaces creates ideal conditions for the settlement and reproduction of these species. The Liedbachtal offers visitors well-developed hiking trails that invite you to take relaxing walks. A particularly idyllic path leads along the Liedbach and allows you to experience the natural beauty of the area up close.
