The Hochplatte is in the immediate vicinity of the much better known Kampenwand. At 1,586 meters, it is a little lower, but the ascent to the high plateau is just as worthwhile. Because you can be impressed by the striking profile of the Kampenwand. The view from up here is also awesome.

Did the hike last year. Unfortunately without komoot. Hiking was exhausting but views and alpine visits are worth it.

As a descent the main route is not worth it 😊👍

The sign is located directly on the summit cross of the Hochplatte. From here you have a wonderful all-round view - as long as you are not hanging in the clouds (but that can also conjure up some great moments).

Coming from the east, the ascent via the mountain hiking trails along Groß- / Kleinstaffn and Friedenrath is recommended. For the descent, you can comfortably hike down the alpine paths.

The ascent to the high plateau is an absolute recommendation even in snow. I was lucky, the snow had just fallen and was already melting again. Waterproof shoes and absolute surefootedness are necessary for the ascent in snowfall.
The section in front of the summit cross in particular quickly turns into a slide and dangerous for beginners. :)

Sturdy footwear required. After the Kampenwand a short detour to the high plateau

The ascent to the Hochplatte is also recommended in winter. But be sure to pack Grödel.
    The view is terrific.

From alternative parking lot 2 of the Hochplattenbahn, it went up to the summit and back again. It is not a climb for beginners or the inexperienced, because immediately before the summit, at the latest, it becomes rocky and slippery. The steep ascent to the mountain station of the cable car is mostly shady and therefore often a bit fresh. If it is almost too difficult for you to get to the mountain station, please enjoy the great view there. I wish everyone else a lot of fun with the even steeper piece. After the forest clears you have a great view.

Great view from the ridge of the Hochplatte on the Chiemsee, Kampenwand and the Chiemgau mountains

From the saddle (farm road) the path is steep and rocky, but easy to walk with hiking boots.
