Oberauerbrunstalm

When the weather is nice and on weekends, the Oberauerbrunstalm is open. But a visit there is also worthwhile, especially in May, when the gentians are blooming in the meadows around the Alm.

After a nice ascent (a good hour from Oberau) through a shady forest, you come to this alp with views of the Hochgern in the east, the Wilder Kaiser in the south, the Geigelstein in the southwest and the Kampenwand in the northwest, as well as directly in front of the Hochplatte , The Alm is cultivated depending on the season, from there you have a wonderful view of the Chiemgau Alps.

The tour is very good for hot days, weekends and holidays, since it is mostly through the forest and the way back is quite good for (E) mountain bikes. The Alm has unfortunately only the weekends, so from Friday afternoon, and the holidays open but is a good recommendation also to continue to the high plate and even further.
