On the eastern edge of the village, the parish church crowns the southern slope of a tuff rock that towers above the village and rises steeply from the valley floor in a monumental and impressive way.
The east-facing nave is a four-bay baroque hall building covered with Gothic cross vaults, the long walls of which are pierced by 4 round-arched closed windows and reinforced with outer buttresses. "The low ribs with a late Gothic cove profile rest like the rectangular belts on wide cornice brackets"

The Church of St. Michael is the Roman Catholic parish church of Steffeln. On the tuff rock in the middle of the village of Steffeln, on which a Hochstaden castle has stood since the Middle Ages, a church has been attested since 1501, the nave of which was rebuilt in 1711. Its church tower was rebuilt in 1923 by the architects Peter Marx and Peter Gracher as a massive west tower with a baroque dome. The nave of the church dedicated to the Archangel Michael measures 25 × 9 meters. The interior was renovated and recolored in 1999. Source: Wikipedia
