The first reports of sculptural finds on the site date from 1906. In May 1921, while working in the fields, a life-size lion-boar group made of sandstone and other fragments of a tomb were found. Lion and boar head came to the Rheinisches Landesmuseum Trier, where they have been exhibited since then. From 1980 prospections were carried out on the site, which formed the basis for geomagnetic surveys in 2001. From 2002 to 2005, excavations were carried out again in Duppach-Weiermühle, the approx. 1000 fragments of two large and two small tombs, a burial chamber, a private road leading to the villa, a terracotta depot, four graves, two ash pits and an outbuilding and probably parts of the villa's main building. The outstanding find was a round-shaped gryphon head approx. 80 cm long and approx. 45 cm high. Source: geschkult.fu-berlin.de/e/klassarch/forschung/projekte/duppach/index.html

A great reconstruction of a six post building. The replica of a semi-circular Roman grave exedra made of original stones invites you to take a break. One then inevitably looks at the spot where the Roman villa used to stand.
The Roman herb garden is also a great idea and suitable for imitating in your own garden or on the balcony.
