Kastelberg 548 meters in altitude, that is, the top of the mountain rises about 70 to 100 meters above the surrounding terrain, about 34 - 42 million years old. The next town, Ulmen, about 6 km away.

As far as the history of the mountain is concerned, the population does not have much to say either, which is a little to blame for the general indifference of the typical Eifel man.

Below the summit there is a large number of moss-covered basalt stones, possibly an old Roman military complex that gave the mountain the name "Kaastel" in the Eiflerplatt
