The Evangelical Lutheran St. Bartholomew's Church in Wolkenstein dates back to a late medieval predecessor building and is located in the immediate vicinity of Wolkenstein Castle. It was built in its current form after the town fire of 1687 in the style of Saxon late baroque. The choir room in the east, built in 1648, is the oldest part of the previous building that has been preserved. The rectangular nave was completed in 1689 and the 35 m high tower in 1710. The interior of the church is classicist.
