The highest point of the Maresana hill you can reach on tarmac following via Maresana from Bergamo or via Castello if you climb from Sorisole. Just below the top of the hill which you can reach only on a trail. Starting point of a couple trails. The climb to get here is really steep

From locality Calvarola (aqueduct), the path starts from the NE corner of the building climbing into the chestnut, hornbeam and downy oak woods, encountering fixed hunting posts along the way almost up to the top.
About halfway along the route, after a rather tiring stretch of rock, you reach a small rustic house called "Caselì del Pita" from where you can enjoy an excellent panorama that extends from the beginning of the Val Seriana to the plain with the Piacenza Apennines, from the entrance of the Brembana Valley in the Bergamo Hills with the inimitable profile of the Upper Town.

La Maresana is a hill included in the territory of the municipality of Ponteranica. It reaches the maximum altitude of 546 meters a.s.l. and forms the north-eastern border of the city of Bergamo. During the summer, the trip to Maresana is a usual destination for the people of Bergamo fleeing the city heat, also favored by the paths created and maintained by the municipal administrations. In the past, it was a place of residence and hunting of which some positions remain. It is under the protection of the "Parco dei Colli" of Bergamo.
