Bike Touring Highlight
If you want to see the beautiful nature from above in the flat Baltic Sea area, you should take a little trip to the "Hermann-Löns-Blick". The 20 meter high tower near the Hemmelsdorfer See offers hikers and cyclists a great view of the surroundings. The nearby nature reserve consisting of swamps and large forest areas can be seen particularly well from above. If you want to climb the tower, you have to plan a small tour through the forest. The Hermann Löns Blick is named after the German writer and journalist Hermann Löns. He lived from 1866 to 1914, in a politically difficult time in which a nationalist and anti-Semitic attitude was the order of the day for many citizens and from which Hermann Löns could not get away either. However, his passion was nature, which is what many of his literary works were about. Researching and protecting plants and animals was his main goal, which is why the lookout tower in the middle of the nature reserve was named after him, despite criticism of its political attitude.timmendorferstrand-travel.de/Regionales/Timmendorfer-Strand-Sehenswuerdigkeits-Highlights/Hermann-Loens-Blick
