A collection of three reservoirs, the Barrow Gurney Resevoirs provide drinking water to the Bristol area. Opened in 1852, the reservoirs are filled by several springs and any outfall flows to the Bristol Channel. They provide a massive 31 million gallons (140,000 meters cubed) per day. The lakes are also popular with anglers who fish for rainbow and brown trout.
