In a treaty of 1026, the chapel was first mentioned.
In 1770, the church was rebuilt with the funds of the clerical goods administration of Heidelberg. The late-Gothic choir and the Romanesque tower have been preserved.
In 1962 the baroque ship became the cath. Parish church in Biebern canceled and replaced by a new building.
The new parish church was renovated in 1988 and the church lighting was installed in 1998.
