Sgùrr a’ Mhaim is a magnificent mountain, probably the most conspicuous peak above Glen Nevis thanks to its shapely, domed form and a quartzite-capped summit that many mistake for a dusting of snow. Hikes to Sgùrr a’ Mhaim take you to arguably the finest bastion of the famous Ring of Steall, a sensational high route that takes in four Munros and the sort of views that make your heart sing.

    Running

One of four peaks on the classic 'Ring of Steall' round. It links to the remainder of the Mamores via the famous Devil's ridge, a grade one scramble. In clear weather you can see across Glen Nevis towards the summit of Ben Nevis.

    Hiking

The Ring of Steall is one of the greatest mountain walks in Scotland, and Sgùrr a'Mhàim is the best peak on it. Tethered to the Mamores range by the narrow and thrilling Devil’s Ridge, its pale summit is quartzite topped (often mistaken for snow) and a pedestal from which to take in a phenomenal mountain panorama.
