It lies at the upper end of the "Echerbach" valley, about 900 meters west-northwest of the village, below a pond. The small valley was meadow and wasteland before the land consolidation and served as a wild garbage dump. The planning envisaged creating five new ponds here as water retention. After the remains of the Roman wall came to light when the pond was pushed out and the bath, which had been known since 1820, was rediscovered, it was decided not to create the uppermost pond, which would have destroyed the building. Instead, the bath was completely excavated and its foundations partially reconstructed for public viewing.
