The bridge spans the Lippe and the Datteln-Hamm Canal east of the Gersteinwerk. The middle dam lies between the lip and the canal. From the bridge there is the possibility to get to the middle dam. There is a cycle path on the Mitteldamm. The bridge has a separation between the roadway and the pedestrian or bike path.
