    Hiking

The Fukusai-ji Temple was built in 1628 by Chinese immigrants in response to a new anti-Christian law. The "Terauke Seido" required Chinese citizens to register at a temple to prove that they were not Christians. Instead of joining the local temples, the Chinese community in Nagasaki decided to build their own temple. That was the beginning of the Fukusai-ji Temple.

The original temple was completely destroyed in 1945, the current Fukusai -ji temple was rebuilt in 1979.
