At some point, the subsoil changes from asphalt to fine gravel. Rides wonderfully with 28mm tires. Part of the path is used as access to the Mestrenger mill. Here are some potholes. There is a higher risk of breakdowns than on the surface, so drive slalom here and avoid bottoming out.

I drove through now. You can really heat it up with a racing bike (I ride a 28mm Conti GP). I would probably refrain from doing so in wet weather. From Mestrenger Mühle the route is also used by cars, here some ugly potholes have been created. In my opinion, there is a greater risk of breakdown than from the road surface.
