The Peterskapelle was built in the 12th century and the village cemetery used to date was moved from Neef to Petersberg. To date, the Neefer Cemetery is the only cemetery in the entire Moselle landscape. While in former times the deceased were carried up the steep vineyard path in a pious and solemn ritual, they have been driven up a paved road since 1959. A special feature is the stone altar in the Peterskapelle, which has been preserved as a cultural monument from the late Renaissance.

On the Petersberg there is a romantic chapel with an old mountain cemetery. Finds of sealed adobe bricks suggest that there was a mountain sanctuary on the site of the chapel as early as Roman times.

The choir of the chapel dates back to the 12/13 century. Most of the current structure was built in the 16/17 century.

The ornate altarpiece in the choir is a late Renaissance work with cartilage ornamentation (mid-17th century).

Extremely beautiful and old chapel. Center of a very beautiful cemetery. Worth seeing!
