The town clerk's bastion, built around 1600, the only one of the former twelve bastion towers in the town of Kamenz, is popularly known as the Pichschuppen, as the brewing community has been drinking beer here since 1827.
November 2, 2020
In the 19th century, the brewing community used the tower to add barrel pitch to their wooden barrels, which is where the name Pichschuppen comes from.
