Chanaz, also called "Petite Venise savoyarde" by the locals (Little Venice of the Savoie), is like a small tourist stronghold, especially in the summer months. In the middle of the otherwise rather tranquil surrounding area, one does not actually expect this hustle and bustle. In Chanaz, however, you quickly get the feeling on a sunny day that you are in an amusement park. Especially on the canals to the side of the Rhone, there is usually a lot of traffic on electric boats and nostalgic excursion boats. The place retains its charm even on such days. The medieval town center is also definitely worth a visit.
