Veltheim Castle is a moated castle in Veltheim (Ohe) in eastern Lower Saxony.
It was created in 1555 from a moated castle that was probably built in the 12th century.
The palace complex was built by Ernst von Honrodt in 1555 with a rectangular palace courtyard, which included residential buildings and outbuildings.
The two-storey main building represents the north wing.
The complex was surrounded by a moat that encloses an area of 56 × 45 m and is fed by a spring in the north-east.
The mighty castle tower at the southeast corner of the manor house has three floors.
His candle arch spans the moat.
Various inscription stones are attached to the building facade, which refer to the history.
This includes a stone with the coat of arms of the von Honrodt family.
A stone with the inscription Ernst von Honrode in 1555 points to the renovation of the castle and a stone from 1579 could have been set for the year the corner tower was built.(Source: Wikipedia)
