Pastor Weiß writes in the "Memorial Book for the Parish Neualbenreuth":
“After the Assumption of Mary I started to build a Lourdes grotto which was inaugurated on November 10th, 1907. Just as the evil enemy always has a hand in the game when good is to be created, a fire broke out in the upper village during the solemn devotion before the transfer of the Lourdes statue. Everything ran away, only an hour later the inauguration of the grotto could take place.
