Unfortunately, the beech was recently cut down so that only a stump is left. It was said to be a danger to hikers and road traffic. Anyone who knows where the beech is located will only be amazed.

The 250-year-old beech is 35 meters high, the same height as the nearby giant beech, which, however, had to be felled in 1999. Only a four-meter-high stump remains of it. The Nigerl beech is particularly well branched and has a trunk circumference of 500 centimeters. What is particularly striking about the giant tree is the mighty trunk, which is grooved alongside.
