The Garden of Moshe de León today symbolizes the deep historical roots of the Jewish community and its contribution to the city. The garden is a tribute to the Author of Sefer ha Zohar, a very important Jewish text.

Located in front of the Puerta de la Malaventura, which gave access to the Jewish quarter centuries ago, the garden pays tribute to Rabbi Moshé de León, who lived in Ávila (13th century) and wrote one of the great mystical books of humanity: the Sefer ha-Zohar or Book of Splendor.

A small park on the edge of the city wall next to the small city gate that led into the Jewish quarter, reminiscent of an important Jewish mystic of the 13th century. Moshe de Leon is considered the author of the Zefer ha Zohar ("radiance") a fundamental work of the Kabbalah.
