The Mottarone is a great vantage point from which not only can you admire a total of seven Alpine lakes, but also opens up a sublime view over to Monte Rosa.
The mountain is also extremely popular with the surrounding racing bike community. It's not quite as high as on Mont Ventoux, but the number of racing cyclists is considerable.

The climb towards this road is offcourse the best, but this is a nice loop to enjoy the view.
