The Scottish highland cattle come in all colors from red, dun (gray), black, yellow and white. The hair is thick, long and only slightly wavy. The head is characterized by the large forehead width or the large eye relief - but a short distance between the eyes and mouth. Typical is the well-defined hair on the forehead and over the eyes, as well as the powerfully protruding horns. Ears are bushy hairy. The feet are short compared to other cattle breeds. The highland cattle must not look leggy. The horns, wide and symmetrical, are another typical characteristic of the highland cattle.
