The listed parish church of St. Michael is in the district of Wüstensachsen in the municipality of Ehrenberg (Rhön). The neo-Gothic hall church was built in 1851/52 according to the design of master builder Mack. Above the western portal with a pointed arch is a wall niche in which stands a statue of Archangel Michael. The beautiful baroque baptismal font from 1717 was taken over from the previous church. It is richly profiled at the foot and provided with leaf ornaments.

This church was dedicated to Archangel Michael. The name (from the Hebrew) means "Who is like God?". He is often shown - in paintings or as a statue - with a flaming sword, occasionally also a lance. Along with Raphael, Gabriel, and Uriel, Michael is one of the four archangels who rank highest (in human conception) in the heavenly hierarchy of angelic beings. Their common feast day in the calendar of saints is September 29th.
