Panoramic View of Dürnstein and Wachau Vineyards

Especially in autumn, this view over the coloured vineyards is a dream!

It is wonderful to hike along the vineyards and to look at the lovely wine-growing villages.

On the world heritage trail 01 from Krems to Dürnstein. Approx. 13 km, 4.5 - 5 hours, 345 m ascent. Point Krems/D. Hoher Markt, Gozzoburg, from here follow the signs to Li. "Welterbesteig". Go down in Alaunstr., there right. steep Kreuzbergstiege up, after this Li. Next, in Kremser Weinlandschaft, further down z. Uni Campus Krems, below a. i.e. street right, further z. Philosophensteig, cross Wachaubahn, up in Steiner Kellergasse, past Steiner Rebentor and Frauenkirche, continue to z. Bahn, steps down and opposite slope/stairs up, R. Stein past, through Steiner vineyards in Forthofgraben, then R. up Pfaffen erg, enter Loiben Berg, au narrow path z. Dürnstein he Kuhberg and old town Dürnstein. Return by bus 715 v. P2, descent z. B. 17.24 h, FZ to Krems approx. 20 min. Note: Can shorten GZ, in Steiner Weinbergen various signs. or simply head in the direction of Dürnstein.
