The first consecration of the church was in 1059. The small church at that time may still have been built of wood. Around 1480, a Gothic new building took its place, which after 240 years no longer met the requirements. Thus, during the simultaneous 1720, the faithful started to build the current church, construction period until 1722. The church received the approximately 45 meter high tower only around 1763.
