In 2022 the Sonnjoch was still snow-free at the end of October and the ascent was easily feasible. You just have to keep an eye on the time, as it gets dark early in October. I started in Eng and climbed the Binsalm and the Binssattel.

Hiking

The ascent is long and leads through difficult terrain. Since you are in the blazing sun all the time, you should do the tour in autumn, when it is not really hot. However, it is worth the effort. You have a view over the main Alpine ridge with its snow-covered peaks and the Achensee. On the other side one looks over the impressive peaks of the Karwendel. Sensational!
