... the Tegernseer Hütte (at 1,650 m) is reminiscent of a James Bond film ("The man with the golden gun"); not (!) on the James Bond rocks in Thailand, on the island of Phuket, but on the Meteora monasteries, located on the peaks of an impressive rock formation, are part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site (from "On a fatal mission"). The way there is, however, comparably challenging. You need the written 2 1/2 hours at a "normal" pace, which is equivalent to an intensive hour, stomach, legs, buttocks. It is almost only uphill on stairs. Nonetheless, the view, even and when the sun slowly rises in the morning and the morning fog clears, is just super-class wonderful. Food and drinks are delicious and very affordable. We recommend, primarily in suboptimal hiking weather or in winter, the variant to the left (takes about 50 minutes).
