At the time when our Savior lived, the
pagan Germanic tribe of the Sigambri lived in the primeval forests between the Ruhr
and Lippe, through which one had to clear a path with an axe. They were expelled by the Brukterians around the year 200. The Brukterians have left many traces up to our days. The mill stream was called Borachtbeki, i.e. Bruktererbach.
This later gave rise to the name Borbeck. ..."
