The former Cistercian monastery of Lichtenstern, founded in 1242 by Countess Luitgard of Weinsberg, is picturesquely situated in the Löwenstein Mountains. The simple early Gothic monastery church, the garden chapel and other outbuildings as well as the well-preserved monastery wall can be viewed from the outside during a tour of the grounds.
