The Bungsberg is with 168 m height the highest elevation in Schleswig-Holstein. It is located in Holstein Switzerland in the municipality of Schönwalde am Bungsberg (Kreis Ostholstein).
On the Bungsberg one of the longest rivers in Schleswig-Holstein springs with the Schwentine.
From him you can look up to the Baltic Sea in good weather. An observation tower, the Elisabeth Tower, was built by the Grand Duke on the Bungsberg in 1863/1864 and measures 22 meters since being raised by four meters in 1875. He is currently public.
As a replacement, an observation platform was installed on the telecommunications tower Bungsberg at 42 meters height of the mast. From the platform you can see in good visibility large parts of Schleswig-Holstein and parts of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
In winter, the Bungsberg Schleswig-Holstein is the only and thus Germany's northernmost "winter sports area" with a specially for the few days with snow cover installed drag lift. A descent on one of the three slopes takes around 25 seconds; pure lift time around one minute thirty. One run is for sledders, two for skiers or snowboarders. The 300 meter long downhill slope has 17 degrees of incline. Theoretically, the 250 meter long steel cable lift with its 34 galvanized tow bars can carry up to 600 people per hour to the summit.

The station Bungsberg near the summit serves the broadcasting of radio programs of the North German Broadcasting Corporation. The steel lattice tower is 179 meters high.

A really imaginative adventure playground with great climbing opportunities, cable car, various swings & giant rocker for groups.
