Created by potting and not by gravel dredging. An information center shows the history of the lakes.

The Krickenbecker Lakes are four lakes in Nettetal on the left Lower Rhine in North Rhine-Westphalia that were created by peat bog. They were given their present form in the period from the 16th to the 19th century through large-scale peat mining and the supply of the river Nette.

The nature reserve Krickenbecker Seen invites you to go hiking, cycling or simply to enjoy nature.
The Krickenbeck Castle is worth seeing, even if it is only partially accessible.

Wonderful beautiful nature (tour). Very varied. Recommended: do a tour during the week, very crowded on the weekend, depending on the weather.
Start Breyell station could not find my current satnav, although it exists. I recommend starting at the church in the center of the village, right on the Komoot tour.

Nice it is already there. You can walk around the lake from the Leuther mill. Catering is on the roadside. Like a beach. Unfortunately, most of the trails for cyclists are saved. In good weather and on Sundays many Dutch are traveling there. So it's "full".
