Palais Hardegg is located in Vienna's Inner City on Freyung Square and its history dates back to the 15th century, when the so-called Admont Court stood on this site. In 1847, Count Maximilian Hardegg commissioned the architects Johann Romano and August Schwendenwein to rebuild the current palace. Constructed in the early Historicist style, it is one of the few remaining examples of a residential palace in the Inner City. Characteristic features include the classically structured facade and the building's large footprint, which extends across two courtyards. Today, the palace is primarily used for residential purposes; the upper floors, including converted attics, contain modern apartments, while the building's historical character has been preserved.
