At the southern end of the Borngasse, which leads from the center of the village up to the vineyards, the field chapel stands for the "Sorrowful Mother of God", which is also popularly known as "Heiligenhäuschen". On St. Michael's Day, a week after church, a procession leads from the Catholic parish church to the chapel. This custom goes back to a vow from the time of the Thirty Years' War. At that time, the plague threatened the villagers who vowed an annual procession to the chapel in case they were saved. That's how it has been today.
