Nestled near the Lousios River in Greece, these ruins would have looked quite different when the monastery first stood in the 10th century. Founded during the Byzantine era, it served as a spiritual and cultural centre, housing valuable manuscripts and religious relics.

The monastery had a turbulent history and played a vital role in preserving Greek Orthodox traditions and the artistry of the region.

You can visit any time. Although there are well-maintained steps, some of the ruined walls are unstable so take care whilst exploring. Take some water with you as you won't find any refreshments.
