These Staufer steles can be found in almost all places where the Staufer left their mark. They are octagonal and have information relevant to the location.

The Staufer stele is in the outer bailey by the fountain tower. This Staufer stele was not made from white-cream banded Jura travertine, as usual, but from reddish Vosges sandstone to match the red sandstone of the Trifels.
Trifels Castle is located in the Palatinate Forest in Rhineland-Palatinate on the Sonnenberg above Annweiler. It stands at a height of 494 meters on a huge three-part red sandstone rock, from which it takes its name: Triple Rock. The oldest parts of the castle still visible today date from the 11th century. The buildings that characterize today's image are not even seventy years old.
