    The cemetery was laid out between 1559 and 1582 and developed into one of the largest and most extensive Jewish cemeteries in Bavaria. Today he still has almost 1,800 gravestones, many of them very well preserved. The oldest tombstone dates from 1594. The last burial took place in 1948.
