Dyck Castle is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful moated castles in the Rhineland. The extensive gardens in the castle park are lovingly designed and very well maintained. It is also worth visiting the castle from the inside (day ticket currently 11 euros). A beautiful place to relax and unwind.

Dyck Castle is one of the most important moated castles in the Rhineland. The complex consists of a stronghold and two outer baileys surrounded by a moat. The castle has a triple moat system.
The park was designed from 1794 under Prince Joseph zu Salm-Reifferscheidt-Dyck (1773-1861) in the style of an English landscape garden (garden architects: primarily Thomas Blaikie, but also Maximilian Friedrich Weyhe and Peter Joseph Lenné); the baroque garden from the 18th century was thus abandoned. The prince himself was a private scholar and author of botanical works, in particular the "Hortus Dyckensis", a documentation of all plants grown in the park and in the gardens of the complex.
