King Baudouin Bridge is an arch bridge, road bridge (pont-route) and reinforced concrete bridge that was built from 1951 to 1956.

The last successor of the Pontia (one of the four wonders of Huy, the first stone bridge, which was built between 1294 and 1303) was inaugurated in June 1956 in the presence of S. M. King Baudouin. This bridge with three arches, simple lines and stones of the country, has little ornament. So it fits discreetly into the landscape shaped by Fort and Collegiate. On the bridge (left bank, left view of the bridge) a sculptural group "Les Bourgeois" by Pierre Pétry was created in 1966. He dominates a vintage stone "1686".

The Pontia was built on June 30, 1294, but the work was not completed until nine years later. As early as 1343, the Pontia housed the city's prison and did not have the appearance it has today, but that of a street. In 1676, when the French army dominated the city, it blew up two arches and two pillars of the Pontia; therefore, a water channel was created to allow passage.
To allow the expensive reconstruction of the bridge, a right of way was raised for boatmen passing through Huy. The foundation stone for the new bridge was laid on September 27, 1680. The work was completed in 1686. Unfortunately, the Belgian army blew up the middle arch on the night of August 14-15, 1914 and despite a repair 6 years later, it was blown up again during World War II.
On June 9, 1956, King Baudouin inaugurated the current bridge, the last descendant of the Pontia.
